Tesla Unveils New Model and New Australian Supercharging Station.

Tesla Model S 85 Car Review

Tesla Australia Marketing and Communication Manager, Heath Walker, announced recently that Goulburn, a main inland city approximately two hours drive south west of Sydney, in New South Wales, would host a Tesla Supercharger station, putting to rest any range anxiety between Sydney and Australia’s capital, Canberra.

With an easy access to the supercharger unit, capable of supporting up to eight vehicles, it will provide an extra 270 km of range in just thirty minutes, allowing the driver to take a rest stop whilst the vehicle is on charge. Canberra itself is just 90 kilometres from Goulburn, with a charging station at the Hotel Realm, in the Canberra suburb of Barton.

More charging stations are planned to be put in place between both Canberra and Melbourne and along the coast highway from Sydney to Brisbane. Tesla has in place around the world some 2285 Superchargers, with more planned, not just for Australia, but around the world, making it the planet’s quickest growing charger network.supercharger_hero_201305

On April 8, 2015, Tesla unveiled the all wheel drive 70D, with dual motor propulsion. It offers up a rated 440 km range, zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 225 km/h. It comes with all of the technology seen in the Tesla Model S, including the 17 inch touchscreen interface, Supercharger capability, Autopilot hardware and over the air software updating.

The range offers three new colours: Ocean Blue, Obsidian Black and Warm Silver, with pricing starting at $102400 plus on road coasts and luxury car tax.
