With a continuum shift in the Australian automotive market place well under way, Mazda Australia continues its wins, with the Mazda 3 and CX-5 topping their segments yet again. August was a great month for the brand, with over 7600 cars finding a new home, its second best result for August ever.
So far this year, Mazda has sold nearly 68000 cars, utes and SUVs, providing a market share of just over nine percent and slotting the Japanese based company into third overall.
2990 members of the petite Mazda 3 family were sold in August, again claiming the titles of popular car for the month AND year to date whilst the clever advertising campaign, along with strong growth in the segment, helped the CX-5 take the pole position in the medium SUV segment, with 1679 rolling out of showrooms. That number also made the relatively new to market vehicle the top selling SUV overall plus it’s capped, in the five months of availability, the medium SUV segment.
The baby of the Mazda range, the Mazda 2, also continues to dominate with some startling figures. Over the last 39 months in a row over 1000 2s have been sold, plus for 56 of the last 59 months (five years, near enough!) whilst the BT-50 continues to impress, with a touch over 1000 moving on in August.
The new Mazda 6 was released at the Moscow Motor Show recently but the current model’s momentum continues unabated, with a strong showing in the family car wrestle. 492 of the still pretty cars were sold, continuing to worry Toyota, Ford and Holden.
